A.I.MATICS, led by CEO Hoon Lee, announced that its AI-powered in-vehicle digital video recorder (DVR), R10 DVR, will be deployed across the entire express bus fleet operated by Korea Wide Group.

According to the company on the 21st, the deployment will upgrade Korea Wide Group’s fleet safety management system with AI technology. By adding AI-powered video analytics to conventional in-vehicle DVRs that have primarily been used for video recording, the R10 DVR is designed to support safer driving and help prevent accidents. The system will also enhance passenger safety and enable more data-driven fleet operations.

The R10 DVR, which will be installed across the entire fleet, integrates front-facing, driver-facing, cabin, rear, and side cameras to collect video from inside and outside the vehicle, along with driving information, driver behavior, and other safety-related data. Using GPS and LTE connectivity, the system uploads data in real time and runs aimNet, A.I.MATICS’ proprietary AI model.

Unlike general-purpose AI models, aimNet is a lightweight, purpose-built AI model optimized for mobility-specific applications. Its architecture is designed to deliver high recognition accuracy while maintaining efficient on-device processing, with AI computing performance of up to 6.0 TOPS and 2 TB of storage capacity.

While conventional DVRs have largely been used to review footage after an accident, the AI DVR transforms accident types and risk factors into actionable data in real time. The collected data is integrated with aid, A.I.MATICS’ AI-powered driver safety management platform, enabling centralized management of risky driving behaviors. Detailed analysis of accident types can also be used to provide customized safety training for individual drivers.

The system is also designed to integrate with Korea Wide Group’s existing fleet management infrastructure. The deployment includes integration with the vehicle monitoring functions of its existing Digital Tachograph (DTG) system, as well as API integration with the group’s existing dispatch management system and automatic synchronization of dispatch data, improving overall operational efficiency.
