A.I.Matics, a subsidiary of semiconductor distribution company Uninest, unveiled its AI-powered industrial driving safety and economic management solutions at a major technology showcase. Founded in 2003 as a Hyundai Motor spin-off specializing in AI video recognition solutions, A.I.Matics was acquired by Uninest in 2016.
At the Korea Industrial Safety & Health Expo held from September 13 to 15, A.I.Matics presented AI-based driving safety technologies, demonstrating solutions already being applied in commercial vehicles.
Among the featured solutions was a safety and economic driving management system integrated into a ready-mix truck. The system included A.I.Matics’ AI accident prevention technology, its all-in-one AID web service, and a video accident detection (VAD) module designed to automatically detect and prevent accidents in real time.
The VAD system works by recognizing dangerous situations that drivers may miss—such as blind spots behind or beside large vehicles. When risks are detected, whether involving pedestrians, motorcycles, bicycles, or other vehicles, the system alerts drivers with real-time warnings. This allows operators to monitor their surroundings and maintain safe driving practices.
By showcasing the system installed in a ready-mix truck, A.I.Matics demonstrated how the technology can effectively detect risks of collisions with pedestrians, motorcycles, and nearby vehicles, helping prevent serious accidents.
The AID platform was also presented as a comprehensive safety and efficiency tool, allowing companies operating hazardous goods vehicles and large trucks to monitor and manage vehicle behavior in real time. By identifying risky driving patterns, the system not only prevents accidents but also helps companies manage costs by reducing excessive fuel consumption and vehicle wear.
Compared with traditional systems, A.I.Matics’ solutions provide accurate, data-driven insights into driver behavior, enabling predictive and preventive safety measures. The company emphasized that its VAD technology had already undergone rigorous testing and was ready for real-world deployment on construction sites and roadways.
An A.I.Matics spokesperson stated, “With increasing demand for accident prevention and cost management in industrial vehicles, our AI-based driving safety solutions are gaining traction both domestically and globally. We plan to continue expanding into diverse application fields worldwide.”
