[TechWorld News] A.I.Matics (CEO: Lee Han-yong) announced on July 17 that it has signed a supply contract with Sampyo Industries to provide its “Ready-Mix Truck AI Video-Based Safe Driving Platform Service.”
Under this agreement, A.I.Matics will first supply its services to 100 ready-mix trucks operating at Sampyo’s sites in the Seoul metropolitan area, with plans to expand the service to thousands of additional vehicles across Sampyo’s nationwide fleet in the future.
The service will also be applied to other construction equipment used by Sampyo, such as bulk cement trailers, cement mixers, and dump trucks. Moving forward, the company plans to enhance driver safety and accident prevention by introducing AI-powered risk detection devices across various heavy equipment fleets.
The core technology behind A.I.Matics’ platform is its proprietary AI video recognition system, which detects risky situations such as sudden stops, sharp turns, following distance violations, and blind spot intrusions. By alerting drivers in real time, the system improves driver awareness and reduces the likelihood of human error-related accidents.
The in-vehicle cameras capture risk-detection video footage and transfer the data to A.I.Matics’ cloud server for analysis. The data is then delivered to users via A.I.Matics’ web-based integrated platform service, “aid,” which provides comprehensive insights to support safe driving practices, improve vehicle efficiency, and reduce costs.
By leveraging the aid platform and big data, vehicle operators can more effectively manage driver safety and fleet operations, resulting in both enhanced safety outcomes and economic benefits.
A.I.Matics expects this contract to accelerate the adoption of AI video recognition technologies across Korea’s construction fleet market. Currently, Korea has 363 ready-mix companies, operating approximately 10,000 mixer trucks, 25,000 dump trucks, and 5,600 bulk cement trailers. With over 1,000 accidents reported annually involving ready-mix trucks alone, the need for safety improvements remains high.
CEO Lee Han-yong of A.I.Matics stated, “This supply contract is especially meaningful as it marks the first time in Korea that AI video recognition technology is being applied at scale to ensure the safety of ready-mix trucks. We are confident that our aid platform will deliver proven safety and economic value, and we look forward to expanding into overseas markets including Japan.”
