Out of 317 applicants, 14 startups have been selected to advance to the final round of Samsung Financial Group’s 4th Open Collaboration program.
The initiative, hosted by Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, and Samsung Asset Management, is designed to foster collaboration between the financial industry and startups to drive business model innovation and solution development.
The final 14 were chosen on October 25 following an extensive review process that began with applications submitted between February 27 and April 2. The program has seen a significant increase in participation compared to previous years, with 55% more applicants than the third edition.
This year’s applicants focused on presenting collaborative use cases, and the program emphasized practical service innovations that could be implemented within Samsung Financial Group.
The selected startups span a variety of sectors, including digital health, personalized financial services, AI-based risk management, and customer experience enhancement. Notable selections include:
Wikiviva (AI-based real-time health and wellness monitoring using GPT models),
Inscure (personalized health content platform),
Codedata (training platform for customer-facing employees),
Teenpegas (MZ-generation data curation content),
AIMATICS (AI-driven video analysis solutions for driver safety and insurance risk evaluation),
Easy Wellness (AI-powered personalized mental health care).
Additional startups include:
Nuvilab (AI-based food waste and nutrition analysis),
Routelab (location-based foot traffic data platform),
Sociobusiness (real estate data analytics),
Finda (mobile loan platform),
Wiz& (CRM-focused fintech solution),
Finset (investment and wealth management service),
Bank Salad (personal finance management platform).
Each of the 14 startups will receive up to 30 million KRW in funding support and the opportunity to work directly with Samsung Financial Group to validate and scale their solutions. Additional investments of up to 100 million KRW may be provided to top-performing teams.
Samsung Financial Group stated, “The selected startups will join hands with Samsung Financial Group to accelerate innovation and deliver new value to customers. This program is expected to generate tangible service enhancements in the financial sector.”
Since its launch in 2019, Samsung’s Open Collaboration has become a flagship initiative for connecting startups with financial institutions, driving new services and business models across industries.
