[Korea Financial Economy News | Reporter Lee Jong-seong] Hanjin announced on the 16th that Hyudata, a subsidiary established in January, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with A.I.Matics, an AI video recognition company, to advance its Road Information DB project. The agreement covers the application of A.I.Matics’ AI-based video recognition technology to build a next-generation, high-precision road condition update system.

The signing ceremony, held at A.I.Matics’ headquarters in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, was attended by Hyudata CEO Lee Jeong-jae, A.I.Matics CEO Lee Han-yong, and other key officials.

Under this partnership, Hyudata will operate a Road Information DB business that incorporates A.I.Matics’ AI technology, including AI-enabled traffic monitoring devices that can automatically detect lane changes, traffic congestion, road surface conditions, and infrastructure data. These updates will be integrated into Hyudata’s road information DB system for real-time application.

The collaboration aims to create a continuously updated, high-precision Road Information DB by automatically incorporating AI-detected updates. This will not only enhance accuracy but also reduce the need for costly manual data collection. The system will enable safer and more efficient fleet and mobility operations by providing drivers and logistics operators with accurate, real-time road condition updates.

In addition, A.I.Matics’ technology can detect abnormal driving behaviors such as sudden lane changes, harsh braking, tailgating, pedestrian intrusions, and accidents. These capabilities will be integrated into Hyudata’s system to further improve road safety and preventive accident measures.

A Hyudata representative stated, “This project will strengthen the reliability and commercial value of the Road Information DB business, while enhancing the safety of both company employees and the public. A.I.Matics’ superior AI video recognition technology will help us reduce costs, improve precision, and build the foundation for new business opportunities in smart mobility.”

Meanwhile, Hyudata recently launched its "Logi-Platform" project in collaboration with UOKP, a startup specializing in VR/AR-based construction site safety management. The platform applies AI-based safety monitoring to construction logistics, integrating road information updates with cutting-edge visualization and data management tools to improve site safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
