A.I.Matics announced that it presented its AI-based safe driving platform “aid” at the 2022 World Smart City Expo (WSCE), held from August 31 to September 2 at KINTEX in Goyang, Korea.
A.I.Matics, originally a Hyundai Motor in-house venture and now a specialized provider of driver safety (ADAS) solutions, is expanding into OEM partnerships with global automakers.
The aid platform introduced at the expo leverages A.I.Matics’ proprietary autonomous driving technology and AI-based video analytics. By integrating functions such as drowsy driving detection, smartphone distraction monitoring, illegal lane changes, and signal violations into its centralized control system, aid enables fleet-wide safety management.
An A.I.Matics spokesperson explained, “While existing hardware-based safety devices such as black boxes and grippers focus on limited functionality, aid provides a holistic AI-driven platform. It supports safety management across taxis, buses, and mobility fleets, allowing for both detailed driver monitoring and real-time traffic safety optimization.”
The World Smart City Expo (WSCE) is Korea’s largest smart city exhibition, bringing together experts from around the world under the theme “People-Centered Sustainable Smart Cities.” The event included conferences, exhibitions, government-to-government (G2G) programs, and business networking sessions, with participation from global corporations, governments, and public institutions.
